Meet the Houston Team Behind Fireside Heating & Air Co. of Houston

We’re the crew that shows up when your AC quits at midnight on a Saturday or your furnace gives out the morning a cold front rolls through Houston. Every person here answers the phone, pulls the permit, or turns the wrench themselves. What ties us together isn’t a handbook, it’s a habit: we treat your house like we treat our own, because most of us live in the same neighborhoods we service.

Our People

Randall Becker, Owner & Lead Technician

I’ve been in attics and crawlspaces across Houston since 2018, and I’ve learned that the best tool in my truck is patience. I started Fireside because I got tired of watching homeowners get talked into equipment they didn’t need by technicians working on commission. These days I still run calls myself, especially the tricky ones: ductwork redesigns in Montrose bungalows, humidity problems in Energy Corridor townhomes, and the occasional ancient system in the Heights that nobody else wants to touch. I’m EPA Section 608 Universal certified and hold a Texas HVAC Contractor License. When I’m not working, I’m usually restoring a 1978 Ford F-150 that has taught me more about stubborn machinery than any textbook.

Marcus T., Senior Installer

Marcus has been hanging units and running line sets for seventeen years, and he can eyeball a load calculation within half a ton. He specializes in Daikin and Carrier variable-speed systems, and he’s the one we send when a Houston homeowner wants a multi-zone mini-split in a 1920s Craftsman with zero closet space. Marcus is NATE-certified in air conditioning and heat pump installation. He grew up in Acres Homes, still lives there, and on Sundays he coaches a youth basketball team at the park where he played as a kid. He puts shoe covers on without being asked because his mother raised him right, and he checks every refrigerant charge twice.

Elena R., Service Coordinator

Elena is the live voice you get when you call (833) 313-7291 at 2 a.m. because your heat went out. She’s been with us for eight years, knows every technician’s strengths, and can tell you whether that rattling noise is likely a blower motor or a loose panel before she even dispatches the truck. She holds a Texas dispatcher certification and has completed factory training on warranty protocols for all nine brands we service, including Trane, Lennox, and American Standard. Elena keeps a detailed map of Houston traffic patterns by hour, which is why our on-time rate stays high even during rush hour on I-10. She has a rescue pit bull named Biscuit and a weakness for kolaches from the Original Kolache Shoppe.

James K., Apprentice Technician

James is in his third year of apprenticeship, working toward his journeyman license through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. He’s already EPA 608 certified and has spent the last eighteen months shadowing Marcus on installs and Randall on diagnostic calls. James has a knack for electrical troubleshooting, probably from the two years he spent as a residential electrician before switching to HVAC. He grew up in Pearland and still commutes from there, which means he understands how Houston’s coastal humidity hits differently south of the loop. He’s the one who asks the questions other people stop asking, and he’s never once complained about a 120-degree attic in July.

One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this crew, from apprentice to owner, works under the same written promise: the 90-Day Done Right Promise. If we install it, fix it, or tune it and something’s not right, we make it right. No paperwork for you to fill out, no argument about whose fault it was, no runaround. The price we quote is the price you pay. We show up when we say we will, in uniform, with background checks completed and shoe covers in our pockets. We’ve been doing it this way for over 42 years across Houston, from Memorial to Midtown, from Spring Branch to the East End. The K.E.Y.S. code isn’t posted on a wall somewhere, it’s how we decide what to do when nobody’s watching: Krafted right, Every time, Your home first, Standing behind it. That’s the standard whether we’re swapping a capacitor on a fifteen-year-old Goodman or designing a full Daikin Fit system for a new build in the Woodlands.
