Signs Your Goodman Heat Pump Service Is Failing
- Cool air from vents when the thermostat’s set to heat. This usually means the reversing valve has stuck or the solenoid coil has failed. The valve switches refrigerant flow between heating and cooling modes, and Houston’s hard water scale can gum up the slide mechanism over years of use.
- Outdoor unit completely iced over, even above 35 degrees. The defrost board or defrost sensor has quit.
